Grotto by Imogen van der Pols
Imogen van der Pols's wax grotto is molded in clay and poured by hand. It was made using chalk rocks from the Seven Sisters Cliffs. Watching a candle play off the curves of the grotto is an enchanting and mystical way to spend long winter nights.
The Seven Sisters are a series of chalk sea cliffs on the English Channel coast and are a stretch of the sea-eroded section of the South Downs range of hills, in the county of East Sussex, in south-east England.
Imogen van der Pols is a candle artist raised in East Sussex, her work is influenced by the raw coastal landscapes of Sussex and its history of fairy folklore. Her candles are mystic sculptures, entering the home under the guise of household objects. Imogen’s pieces are sculpted in unfired clay before being molded and poured by hand into wax, creating the organic texture of her candles.
Soy wax, keep out of heat. Best used with a tea light candle, not included.
