Marmo (est. 2019) is an alternative arts organization with a caffè and shop in Shelton, WA.
About the Gallery & Press:
Since 2019, Marmo has expanded access to art, literature, education, and opportunities for sharing creative work in a counter-hierarchical, radically open space and community.
Marmo is dedicated to building community and fostering collaboration. Through rotating art exhibitions, workshops, talks, screenings, and more, we actively support arts and culture in Shelton.
We partner with artists, writers, and performers whose work explores unique philosophical inquiries and perspectives, with an emphasis on countering dominant social narratives.
Our independent publishing project, Desuetude Press, features a range of art, poetry, critical theory, translation, and prose with a focus on exploration and experimentation.
About the Caffè:
Our Italian-inspired menu offers coffee, breakfast, lunch & aperitivo fare. We experiment with notions of food as art and make casual fine dining fun.
We proudly partner with local suppliers, including Olympia Coffee Roasters, Baker/Potter, Meadow Moss Farm, and Homewood Floral.
Our rotating beer & wine selection focuses on low-intervention wine, highlighting European and local wines.
About the Shop:
Bottega Marmo showcases a curated selection of goods, including artist-made crafts, contemporary design objects, and books.
In addition, we offer specialty grocery items, farm-fresh produce, house-made preserves and sauces, beverages, and more.
We are committed to supporting local businesses and sustainable supply chains, and so we collaborate with a diverse array of local florists, roasters, bakers, artists, crafters, and authors.
Marmo is wheelchair accessible and has a wheelchair accessible all-gender bathroom on the ground floor.
Marmo exists on unceded Squaxin land.
